Flexible Spaces
Proper planning is crucial when purchasing your house plan. If your family is growing or you think you'll want a workshop or office space somewhere down the road, flex spaces are something to look for in your house plan. Check for finished basements, bonus rooms, and even dedicated home offices, studies or extra bedrooms for more space. Depending on your family’s lifestyle, mom may also want a dining room for entertaining.
Beautiful Kitchens
If mom is a foodie she'll really appreciate a fabulous luxury kitchen. The kitchen is the hub of the home. Your family will dine, entertain, do homework, web surf, watch TV and just generally hang out there a lot. Consider a kitchen with a large island. Modern bathrooms can be had with every luxury amenity a mom could want. Beautiful baths with rain shower heads are very popular. Tubs are still desirable but the growing trend is for the bathroom and bathtub to be in separate spaces. Jetted spa tubs are especially nice, for the luxury but also since kids love them it makes bath time more fun for them, too.
Mud Rooms
Keeping things clean and orderly is a battle for moms and mud rooms are a great way to lead the charge. Mud rooms provide storage and a place for family members to take off wet, soiled shoes and jackets and stash baseball gloves, hats, rackets etc... this helps to keep both dirt and general disarray from entering the house proper.
Laundry Rooms
The laundry never stops, particularly with kids around and mom needs a dedicated laundry space to keep up. And it’s not just about having the space−the location of the space is key to making it functional. Placing the laundry room in a practical spot where she can multitask while tackling her to-do list is a must.
Walk-In Closets
Walk-in closets are a must for mom. It gives her a place to have all of her favorite clothes and accessories properly arranged and stored in one spot.
