If you’re looking for a totally unique statement of a house plan, you have to check this out! The Octagon II (THD-7386) is based on The Octagon (THD-1371), an eight-sided design known for its central living space, naturally bright interior, and a wraparound deck with enough room to host a whole party. In this updated floor plan, we’ve expanded on all that made this design great. You’ll find the interior is more open thanks to the removal of a wall between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen has been opened up with its new island feature, too. This dramatic octagonal house plan is still built around an octagonal living room with a secondary raised roof with eight clerestory windows to illuminate everything below, but you’ll also find skylights included in the master bathroom and utility room now. Bathrooms have been expanded to include his and her vanities in the master suite as well as in the hall bath between the two secondary bedrooms. Added square footage in the utility room has allowed us to make it into a proper mudroom with built-in storage cubbies. And finally, we’ve added a spiral staircase to the midpoint of the five-sided deck, so you don’t have to run around to either end to exit to ground level. The Octagon II has a lot to offer on one story, but there’s also plenty of space in the unfinished basement if you’d like more.
