Making your home safe

While fire sprinkler systems have been used commercially for over a century, this technology has only been available for single-family homes for about 25 years.

By educating builders about the availability of fire sprinklers and encouraging home builders to install them in new homes, we hope to prevent many unnecessary fire deaths. With the use of fire sprinklers, the average homeowner can significantly reduce his or her risk of death or serious injury by fire and ultimately save lives.

Another way to protect your home is with security systems which are sophisticated enough these days that they not only sound an alarm if there’s a fire, but also can be programmed to turn on the lights if the emergency is at night, call the fire or police department and call you if you’re not home (at a cost of $10,000 and up).
