You can't go wrong with a little wiggle room! Architects add bonus rooms to their designs to give homeowners choices. They may choose to leave the space unfinished when they build to save money, or they might finish it to serve a purpose not otherwise covered in the plans—like a home office, playroom, gym, etc. In any case, it always makes a great option for storage! We have all kinds of house plans with bonus rooms, so come find the right one for your family!

House Plan 10977 makes the most of a narrow lot with 2,470 square feet, three bedrooms, and two-and-a-half baths neatly packaged on two stories behind a 38' façade. The layout places the two-car garage in front while the entry is set farther back. The main level has a flex room by the foyer and totally open living on one side while the luxe primary suite fills out the other. The bedrooms upstairs share a study loft and the bathroom, and there's a bonus room nearby!

House Plan 11243 is a great barndo for a growing family with 2,937 square feet, four bedrooms, and four-and-a-half baths across two stories. The main floor includes the open-concept great room, the five-piece primary suite, the mudroom that connects to the laundry room, and the 430-square-foot bonus room that's yours for the customizing—it's not every day you find a bonus room accessible on the first story! Upstairs, there's a loft overlooking the great room, two suites, and a final bedroom by a hall bath. Of course, this design comes with plenty of garage space, too!
