Gather the information below and you’ll be doormat shopping in no time.Jot down a few measurements. Providing basic door measurements helps us create a more accurate cost estimate for your project. Follow these simple steps:• Measure the width of the opening at the center, horizontally from one end of the rough opening to the other.• Next, extend your tape measure vertically from the sub-floor to the header to get the rough opening height. Then, record the depth of the opening.• Don't stress over your measurements! A certified Pella professional will confirm measurements and conduct an installation inspection of your home before any work starts.Determine the “handing” of your door. This traditional industry term refers to the direction that your door swings. Knowing this info about your existing door tells us where to place the hinges, doorknobs and lockset on your new door. • To determine the handing of an existing door, stand outside and face its exterior. • If the hinges are on the left side, then you have a left-handed door that opens on the right side and swings left. • If the hinges are on the right, you have a righthanded door that opens on the left side and swings to the right.Questions?Friendly Pella experts are ready to help every step of the way.
