Immediately replacing the previous Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 tax credit for ENERGY STAR\u00c2\u00ae <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/index.cfm?c=products.pr_tax_credits#c1\">windows and doors<\/a>, the new stimulus bill significantly raises performance requirements for windows and doors qualifying for credits.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tQualifications for <a href=\"http:\/\/pressroom.pella.com\/fast_facts\/135\/\">exterior windows, doors<\/a>, and skylights are that the component is equal to or below a U Factor of 0.30 and a SHGC of 0.30 for all U.S. climate zones.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tThe U-Factor measures heat transmission through a window or door \u00e2\u20ac\u201d a lower U-Factor equals better insulation.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tSHGC measures how well a window or door blocks heat from sunlight.
