Bring the Café Home

Bring the Café Home GE recently launched a new suite of free-standing appliances called the GE Café series for those who not only love the restaurant-inspired look of stainless steel-wrapped technology, but who actually love to cook and entertain family and friends.

"Not everyone wants or can afford high end built-in appliances, which is what makes the GE Café series of appliances a great alternative," said designer Jannis Vann. "The fact that each appliance is free-standing in configuration also makes it easy to create a unique and flexible kitchen design."

As more and more homeowners start to actually 'live' in their homes, the size of the kitchen continues to increase. "Kitchens are not just a place to eat, but are becoming more of a Café-style space where people want to relax and chat with family and friends," said architect Jerold Axelrod. "Many homeowners want their kitchen to capture the look and ambience of a restaurant quality kitchen."

"Equally important is the look and feel of their Café-style kitchen appliances, which allows them to become master chefs in their own kitchen," said designer Jim Wells. "What's great about the GE Café suite is that it's not only affordable but has all the features a cook would love.

"I'm particularly fond of the Café Refrigerator which features an ExpressChill drawer which cools drinks in minutes rather than hours, and is extremely energy-efficient." "I like that you can choose a gas range or a dual-fuel range, which allows you to cook with gas on the cooktop, while enjoying the performance and control of an electric oven," Wells said.

Additional products include the GE Café Dishwasher with stainless steel interior and SmartDispenser technology, the Over-the-Range Microwave with a dual-distribution cooking system and the Vent Hood.
